My Story

Music has been a constant thread in my life, evolving from a simple curiosity into a deep and personal pursuit. What started with a few guitar chords soon grew into an exploration of different instruments, styles, and creative expressions. From self-learning with limited resources to discovering the emotional power of music in storytelling, each step has shaped my artistic identity. This journey has not only refined my skills but also deepened my connection with music as a form of expression, healing, and discovery.

2010 - 2015

My journey in music began with a spark of curiosity when my uncle brought a guitar to my home in 2010. He taught me my first few chords, and soon after, I hired a tutor to build a stronger foundation. My tutor was impressed with my rapid progress—within just four weeks, he remarked that I was already on par with students he had been teaching for months. Encouraged by this, I turned to self-learning, relying on the limited online resources available at the time. By slowing down tutorial videos and carefully listening to each note, I unknowingly developed a skill that still helps me break down and understand music by ear today.

Once I became comfortable with strumming, chord transitions, and accompanying singers, I ventured into new genres, developing a deep interest in flamenco and rumba. In 2011, I bought an electric guitar to explore rock and pop. For years, my musical journey revolved around the guitar—until 2015, when I found myself drawn to the piano.

2015 - 2018

The music of Korean pianist Yiruma resonated deeply with me, offering a sense of solace during a challenging time in my life. Around the same period, I discovered Korean dramas, and their emotionally rich soundtracks had a profound impact on me. I was captivated by how music could elevate storytelling, adding depth to every scene.

Inspired by these influences, I eventually purchased a digital piano, which opened the door to a whole new world of musical expression. Over time, as my piano skills developed, so did my curiosity about music production.

I actively collaborated with the creative community in my college, performing at music festivals and contributing as a member of the music society. During this time, I also worked on my first commercial composition, which I have showcased here.

2019 - 2024

During these years, I focused intensely on instrumental composition while also working on commercial music production projects at the private firm I was part of. Alongside this, I deepened my study of piano music, covered my favorite songs, and deepened my understanding of music production by mimicking and replicating the works that inspired me. This period of growth also led me to start my own instrumental project, Bluehertz, which I have showcased on my portfolio page.

2025

I was fortunate to acquire a new YAMAHA digital piano, which has significantly expanded my ability to explore classical music in its full depth. Its improved tonality, key action, and three-pedal system have allowed me to focus on nuances that were previously unattainable on my former instrument. This year, my focus has been on self-studying the works of Bach, Chopin, Debussy, and other legendary composers while refining my piano technique and growing as an instrumentalist. My piano review video has been displayed here which I record periodically to check my progress.
